Upcoming Events

  • Voted on Check signing members of the board. Lydia Young made the motion to appoint Brittany Davis and Jared Thisse as check signers. David Steltz seconded the motion. No one opposed. Motion approved.
  • EVENT: Ugly Sweater Party 3rd Annual
    • Friday Dec 14th 7pm at Jeb’s
    • Santa for Seniors donation jar, 50/50 raffle, Trivia game starts at 7:30pm, people can buy extra points, donation of $5 or more
    • Ugly sweater contest, most applause wins
    • Brittany to take care of prizes
    • McKenzie to bring buckets and Karaoke machine
    • Trivia prize/gift certificate
  • EVENT: Meditation at Dryad Hollow
    • Wed evening 7pm, 1hr long session
    • Group rate: $60, or $10 per person
    • Need to create sign-up to determine interest and SET DATES
  • EVENT: NYE Gala @ Elks for New Year’s Eve
    • Coming up soon - Let’s help promote the event! Dress up!
  • EVENT: January – Snow Shoe at Oswegatchie
    • Set date, start advertising
    • Tentatively Saturday Jan 19th or Sunday 20th due to full moon
    • Extra snowshoes provided, s’mores and bonfire to be enjoyed after the hike
  • EVENT: Snowtown USA in Watertown starts Jan 18th (possible conflict with hike^)
    • Multiple days of events in January – Get together with the group
    • Film Festival
  • EVENT: Skiing/snowboarding event up @ Snowridge
    • Determine Date - early February
    • Organize a larger group to go, possible ticket discount?
    • Liz is an instructor, can discuss with ski school director
    • Great opportunity for adults to learn, lesson day/bunny hill
    • Experienced skiiers and boarders can just ski together while we learn
    • Sunday is a slower day so would be great for a larger group of us
  • EVENT: Paint & Sip in March, ask Doug Hough
  • EVENT: Garden Party at 1812 House, late spring, early summer, Chris keen to start planning in January
    • Fundraiser for Renee Beyer Fund, sell tickets? Networking opportunity, signature event
  • EVENT: Tug Hill Vineyard Valentine’s Day wine & food pairing dinner

LCEP membership

  • What is our Financial goal – website fees paid, be able to pay ahead for future event spaces
  • Find local sponsors: Double Play – discount on yearly fee to be a member there as well
  • Need to find local businesses who would donate a discount, extended only to members
  • Come up with funding levels, invoice people at certain time of year
  • Help find people to join local boards in the county, list positions and pair boards with people (Press Release to reach businesses, help the Chamber)

Membership perks

  • Marketing – discounted price on goods and services for events for members only
  • Need a Membership Card; cards themselves – Coughlin, Dave to design
  • Local businesses – extend a discount to a member with their membership card, members help promote economically
  • Drink chips, Swag bags: T shirt, Koozie
  • Opportunity to be a part of a board, what does it mean to be a board member – Ryan Pishe to help us get a list of open board positions for the website
  • Advertisers or sponsors


January 2nd, to be held at the IDA, strategic planning session board members only, followed by the Happy Hour at Jeb’s at 7pm.
